This is a vintage 1980’s Eileen Fisher women's long coat in a dark brown 100% wool fabric. I believe it to be boiled wool based on the feel - very soft and with nice drape and structure. The tag is specific to Eileen Fisher’s earliest designs in the 1980’s - rare to find. The coat features a hood, a full-button front closure with seven dark brown buttons, and two front patch pockets. It has a relaxed, oversized fit with drop shoulders and long sleeves. The size tag indicates “2” and measurements are provided in a chart in the listing photos. The interior is lined with a dark satin fabric. Visible signs of wear include some discoloration along the bottom hem. It appeared to be bleach, and I applied a spot dye treatment, which significantly blended the area. I also hand washed the coat in cool water and wool-safe fragrance free detergent, and allowed it to fully dry flat. It was gently steamed and lint rolled. The bleach lightened area is much less visible, but it could also be folded up to the inside and hand stitched (a total loss of 0.5-1” in length) - I am an experienced sewist and willing to hem if requested by the buyer, but if purchased at my full asking price. No other stains or damage noted. Excellent pre-owned vintage condition, showing how well the pieces from this designer hold up over time. Smoke free home.
