One-of-a-kind evening bag from the acclaimed jewelry designer Kenneth Jay Lane under the name Kenneth Lane, circa 1960s. Crosshatched black leather exterior in Saffiano style. Top gold-tone bar clasp, encrusted with clear rhinestones and metallic blue enamel alternating in a twisting spiral effect, finished on ends in an Art Deco-inspired seashell motif. Hinged frame closure. Black satin lining with two interior pockets - one slip with cream lining, one zip. "Kenneth Lane" printed in gold on lining. Lovely purse for cocktail party or formal soiree. Very good vintage condition. Leather recently cleaned and conditioned. Wear consistent with age and use: Touch-ups to frame, lining, and edges, and small section of blue enamel is chipped.
